These basses are manufactured in Germany and finished by us in Vienna. Optimal setup and great sound from K&T at the entry-level price! An incredibly loud and fine-sounding jazz bass (pickups already prepared for Fishman Full Circle or Wilson K1) that absolutely does not need to hide in the orchestra.

Bram De Man – Vienna 2020

Built in the K&T workshop, this instrument combines all our know-how with the cremonese design by Bram de Man. Built from the finest wood deposited for at least 15 years, this is an incredible solo instrument. Handy, but with a voluminous and durable tone, this bass already sounds like an old master instrument. Antique oil varnish, one-piece maple back.

This double bass was played for more than 30 years in the orchestra of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Extensively restored bass with dark timbre and very good sound. Scroll and neck not original.

Martin Stoss – Vienna c. 1830

4-string scale Eb 109 cm

Completely original Viennese double bass by Martin Stoss, built in the 1830s. A true example of this master, especially appreciated for his violoncellos. Original neck without shaft, unrestored condition. It is possible to shorten the scale to 105cm without limiting the playability.

C. Hermann Voigt 5-String double bass built in 1900

5-string scale 107 cm

Built as a 5-string bass in 1900 for the Vienna Concert-Verein (orchestra which was based in the Vienna Musikverein and later became the Vienna Symphony Orchestra). This special instrument was delivered by C. Hermann Voigt to the orchestra situated in the Vienna Musikverein. Most likely it is a southern German master instrument, which was completed in the Viennese Workshop. An incredibly voluminous, fast responding bass. Soft in tone, but with lots of projection. Strong and loud tone. An absolute top instrument for the demanding musician. This bass enhances every bass group with its enormous tone. Conveniently playable even in the high registers with soloist qualities. Very good condition, perfectly restored and optimally set up.

Wolfgang Sagmair (Sagmayr) – Graz 1686

4-string scale 110 cm

Probably the oldest double bass built in Austria. An indescribable instrument in terms of timbres, playability and volume. Original neck without a neckcraft, one of the few basses that works in all variants of stringing, be it orchestra, solo or old music with gut strings.
